The 2021 Toyota RAV4 EV is the result of a collaboration between Japanese and American manufacturers Toyota Motor and Tesla Motors. The second generation of the all-electric SUV went on sale in 2012, competing with similar models from other companies.

The Toyota RAV4 EV electric all-wheel drive SUV has a typical appearance for this type of car, but with significant differences. The powerful and heavyweight 4574 x 1816 x 1816 mm body is designed to improve aerodynamic performance, which is only 0.30 Cd for a total weight of 1828 kg.
A new radiator grille on the front bumper, more aerodynamic mirrors and a deep rear spoiler, as well as a well thought-out underbody paneling contributed to the decrease in the coefficient of drag of the Toyota RAV4 EV compared to its petrol counterpart, which has it equal to 0.34 Cd.
Also in the electric truck, battery power consumption has been reduced through the use of LED low beam headlights with high beams of halogen projectors, LED daytime running lights that dim to side lights and LED tail lights.
High seating position, low fairing and sloping bonnet and long side windows make it easy to check the side lanes for good driver visibility.

Toyota RAV4 EV is roomy and spacious. It accommodates 5 people and a load of up to 1030 liters. By reclining the rear seat backrests and sliding 60/40 split-seat seats forward and backward, it is easy to optimize passenger and cargo capacity in an electric vehicle.
The interior of the car is decorated simply and discreetly, but conveniently and technologically – textile 2-color upholstery of six-speed adjustable driver’s and passengers’ seats with armrests and headrests, a compartment for small items opposite the front passenger seat, digital sensors, a center stack with an eight-inch color LCD touch screen, no knobs and an unusual gear shifting mechanism borrowed from the Prius.
On the sides of the digital speedometer are two small gauges. The left one is responsible for the vehicle’s condition indicators, while the right one can scroll through the screens to show the efficiency of the trip and assess the driver’s driving level.
The large touchscreen contains audio controls, a backup camera, a navigation system that can find charging stations and the Toyota Entune app system.

The Toyota RAV4 EV is powered by an electric motor with 115 kW (154 hp) and 218 Nm of torque in normal mode and 273 Nm in sport mode, powered by lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 30-41.8 kWh developed by Tesla.
Note, unlike other electrical appliances, the RAV4 EV has two charging modes: Normal and Extended. Normal charging of a 30 kW • h battery from a 220 V home network takes 44 hours and allows an electric car to travel up to 160 km, an extended battery charging with a capacity of 41.8 kW • h takes 52 hours, which makes it possible for a car to travel up to 200 km. Fast charging at special stations will replenish the energy supply in 6-8 hours.
Toyota RAV4 EV has 2 driving modes: sport (acceleration from 0 to 96 km / h in 7 seconds at a maximum speed of 166 km / h) and normal (acceleration from 0 to 96 km / h in 8.6 seconds at maximum speed up to 137 km / h).
